Academic Background
Bernard Anbataayela Mornah’s academic journey, spanning from the 1970s to the early 2000s, is a testament to his resilience, determination, and passion for learning. Despite facing numerous challenges along the way, his commitment to education and personal growth has enabled him to achieve remarkable success in his academic pursuits.
Mornah began his education in the 1988 at the Sankana L/A Primary School and continued at St. Andrew Catholic Junior Secondary School, where he faced initial difficulties in mathematics. However, his perseverance and dedication allowed him to excel in his studies, and he was awarded a New Testament Bible for his outstanding performance in 1981.
His academic prowess continued at Lawsec Secondary School from 1989 – 1993, where he formed the Business Students Club, demonstrating his leadership skills and passion for business and economics. After completing his Ordinary Level Examination with Division One results in 1987, he pursued his Advanced Level education at Tamale Secondary School from 1987-1989. Despite losing his father during this time, Mornah’s determination drove him to succeed, and he passed his GCE Advanced Level Examination in 1989.
Following his National Service at the Regional Coordinating Council-Wa from 1996, Mornah worked at Beacon Insurance Company in 1996 and the Internal Revenue Service in 1997 – 2000 to support his younger brother’s education. He later enrolled at the University of Cape Coast in 2000, where he earned a BA Honors in Sociology and Economics in 2003. Mornah excelled in both academics and sports during this time, and he was recognized as the best sportsman for the 2002-2003 academic year.
Mornah’s pursuit of higher education led him to the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin in Germany in 2008 and completed in 2010, where he obtained an MA in International and Development Economics. Throughout his time in Germany, he balanced his academic responsibilities with his role as the General Secretary of the People’s National Convention from 2007-2015, demonstrating his commitment to education, leadership, and political engagement.
Mornah’s personal experiences with poverty and the transformative power of education have shaped his belief in the importance of equal educational opportunities for all children. As a presidential aspirant, he is determined to ensure that every child has access to quality education, allowing them to develop their talents and contribute to the betterment of society.
Mornah vows to pursue the implementation of the constitutional provisions of Article 25 (a, b, & c) and Article 38 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, reflecting his dedication to education and his vision for a more equitable and prosperous nation.
